Clinical Research Support

Mock Oral Exams

The NESVS has partnered with the University of Massachusetts Medical School to hold the region's first mock oral examination program. The program will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 (in conjunction with the UVASC Simulation Program).

Board-certified vascular surgeons from across the region will administer the exam, with written feedback provided to the trainees and their program directors.

The mock oral examination program is open to senior level vascular trainees (vascular fellows and PGY4 and PGY5 residents) in accredited New England programs on a first-come, first-serve basis. Register as soon as possible to secure your slot.

Please Note: While participation in the UVASC Simulation Course is encouraged, it is not mandatory for participation in the mock oral exam.

The New England Society for Vascular Surgery would like to announce a funding opportunity for clinical research support. This funding will support a broad spectrum of clinical research. Studies to be considered should focus on improving outcomes and care in the region. The VSGNE model is acknowledged by the Society as an excellent system for this type of work, but the NESVS will consider all types of clinical research. This funding announcement is geared towards vascular fellows and residents, as well as young investigators early in their careers.

Clinical research proposals can be submitted by anyone who is a member of the NESVS or has an NESVS member willing to sponsor the project. The application form must be submitted to the NESVS Executive Council for review. The Council has approved budgetary support of up to $10,000 for 1-3 years.

NESVS can provide administrative assistance and help recruit additional study sites.

All applications will be accepted up until the abstract submission deadline of each year. Completed application and supporting materials should be sent to

Grants will be awarded at the Annual Meeting.
